TEHRAN - On Sunday, a meeting on inter-religious dialogue involving Islam and the Christian Orthodox Church was held between the Christian Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew and the Chairman of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization (ICCO), Hojjatoleslam Mahamoud Mohammadi Araqi.
Patriarch Bartholomew said that dialogue is a gift from God and "we believe that dialogue is the only way to peace."
Also, Hojjatoleslam Araqi said that through dialogue between religions and civilizations and cultural exchange, there will be a greater understanding among nations, and prejudice, racism and injustice could be decreased.
A high-ranking delegation from the Orthodox Church and Ayatollah Taskhiri, the Secretary General of the Organization for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, also attended the meeting.
