Culture urges religious sect to get legalised

Luena, Angola – The Moxico provincial department of Culture, Thursday in Luena, urged leaders of un-recognised religious sects to speed up their process of legalisation with the concerned authorities.

Speaking at a meeting with leaders of various religious sects, the acting director of the provincial department of Culture, Damásio Lufunda, spoke of the Culture Ministry’s position about the proliferation of sects in the country.

In his address, the official said that the State and society are worried about the proliferation of churches, many of which exploring the faithful instead of preaching the gospel of the bible, through philanthropic actions.

Mentioning the presidential decree on the issue, September this year, the official highlighted that after the 120 days deadline, strict measures will be taken against those who insist in remaining illegal.
