POLICE are looking for a prominent Chitungwiza prophet, Madzibaba Rodwell Chidakwa whom they want to question after his sister alleged that she had an incestuous relationship with him.
Police in the town said Madzibaba Chidakwa, a prominent prophet of the Johanne Masowe sect, allegedly slept with his sister several times last year and impregnated her.
"We are looking for him and the 18-year-old sister has confessed that she slept with him several times and was under pressure from the prophet to terminate the pregnancy," said a police officer in Chitungwiza who spoke on condition of anonymity.
There have been several cases of prominent prophets indulging in incestuous relationships with their relatives and raping minors, presumably in a bid to enhance their spiritual and healing powers.
A 46-year-old prophet in November last year raped a Kwekwe girl after she fell into a trance during a healing session on a hill.
A Marondera church leader and politician Lawrence Katsiru is on $500 000 bail for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl and member of his church.
Katsiru allegedly raped the girl after her parents took her to the prophet for counselling saying she was naughty.
