New Delhi, India - The “Status of woman in Islam” was discussed at a forum held yesterday, February 28, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the holy prophet (PBUH) in Kanpur District, India.

Organized by FIANS Organization, the program was held with the presence of scholars, researchers and politicians.
Speaking at the program, Hojat-ol-Islam Naghavi, Indian cleric, said women have various rights in different religions, but some of the rights given to a woman in Islam are unique.
“A woman plays various roles in different periods of her life, including the role of a daughter, sister and mother which is of great importance since home is the first school of a child,” he added.
Stressing that Islam is a comprehensive religion, he said it guarantees human rights in every aspect of life.
He also stressed that cruelty, injustice and terrorism are Haram (forbidden) in Islam and it is the enemies plot to attribute terrorist activities to Muslims.
'A child who is properly raised in a healthy family based on Islamic teachings, will never commit a crime as an adult," he went on to say.
