Banten Police chief reassigned after attack on Ahmadis

Jakarta, Indonesia - Banten Police chief Insp. Gen. Agus Kusnadi has been reassigned from his position following recent violent attacks against members of minority Islamic sect Jamaah Ahmadiyah in Pandeglang, Banten, that led to three deaths.

Agus has been given a new position as the National Police chief expert staff for security policy analysis.

“We want the system at the Banten Police office to run well. It didn’t run that well,” National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said Friday in Jakarta.

“The move is meant to support the needs of our organization,” he added, as quoted by tribunnews.com
