Nigeria: Cleric Tasks Parents On Children's Education

Abuja — A Muslim cleric and an official of the National Mosque Abuja, Ustaz Dhikrullah Hassan, has advised Muslim parents to ensure proper education for their children in the Islamic and western ways.

He gave the advice in Abuja yesterday, while speaking during the fourth Waleematul Qur'an recitation of the Marcas Tarbiyatul Muslimeen (The Muslim Training Centre), Kuje, Abuja.

Ustaz Hassan, who warned parents not to leave the upbringing of their children to television, said there is nothing wrong with the living condition of the world but people that live in it.

He said that the situation can be salvage if people change their living condition by turning a new leaf.

He said having a positive child starts from the choice of spouse by intending couples and advised Muslims to remember the saying of Prophet Muhammad that Muslims should marry for piety rather than for beauty, wealth and family.

Proprietor of the school, Ustaz Muhammad Shamsudeen AbdulAzeez, said the school has graduated over 100 children and adults since its establishment at Aleyita, Airport Road, Abuja.
