Benin City, Nigeria — A pastor with Christ Embassy Church, Edo State, and Sen. Francis Okpozo's wife Anna was on Tuesday abducted by unknown gunmen in Benin City, the state capital. She was said to have been kidnapped from her residence,10, Abu Street, a few minutes after she had a prayer session with her family members.
Eye witness account revealed that the kidnappers was a four-man gang stormed the residence with a white Audi car to block the gate of the compound before they whisked her away. Two of the kidnappers were said to have gained access to the compound while the other two were at the alert. Informants said they later phoned Sen. Okpozo and demanded a N5 million ransom as a condition for release.
Meanwhile, the kidnapped woman's husband, Senator Francis Okpozo was reportedly out of town when the event unfolded. But it was learnt that her two sons with whom she prayed reportedly just left the house when the kidnappers stormed the place and took her away. They reportedly ransacked everywhere in the house and took along with them some valuables including handsets.
Recently, unknown gunmen had also broken into his country home at Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State at night and shot one of his nephew on the legs. The Senator was also not at home during the incident..
The matter was said to have been reported to the police in the state.
