Three arrested militants were planning to attack Dera chief

Ludhiana, July 1: Punjab Police arrested three members belonging to Khalistan Zindabad (a militant group) here on Tuesday.

Addressing the media persons here, Sanjeev Kalra, Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range said that the militants who have been identified as Kuljeet Singh, Bhat Singh and Baba Balbir Singh belong to Khalistan Zindabad, a militant outfit which is a part of the movement to create Khalistan, the Sikh homeland through armed struggle.

Further he confirmed that the arrested trio had planed to target certain religious leaders such as Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda sect in Punjab.

The police also recovered 32 gelatine sticks and 6 detonators from the three militants.
