Chicago, USA - The head of the nation's Roman Catholic bishops says Catholic lawmakers should follow their faith when setting public policy under a new presidential administration.
Cardinal Francis George of Chicago made the comments Monday at the fall meeting of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in Baltimore.
He says the bishops respect Catholic lawmakers but want them to follow Catholic teaching.
President-elect Barack Obama is Protestant and Vice President-elect Joe Biden is Catholic. Both support abortion rights and other policies that don't align with Catholic church views.
