Sacha Sauda seeks probe

Chandigarh, India - Dera Sacha Sauda has demanded a judicial probe into the controversial claim of Punjab police that five women followers of the sect are human bombs. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Sunday, Dera spokesman Aditya Insaan and head of the sect’s woman wing Himali Insaan said a judicial commission should be set up to inquire into the preposterous claims made by Punjab police.

Aditya said all the five women were housewives and not suicide bombers as portrayed by top Punjab police officers, who should come out with evidences to substantiate their claims. He alleged that these women were victims of vendetta politics being played by Shiromani Akali Dal and its acting president Sukhbir Badal in order to defame the Dera. He said three of the women had dared to take part in demonstrations during Dera-Sikh row and two were prime witnesses against an Akali leader in the suicide case of Shyam Sunder.

He added that not only were these women declared human bombs but their pictures were hung across police stations as Punjab’s most wanted without even registering an FIR. Aditya said all the five women had been put in a safe location as it was being feared that they could be eliminated in a false encounter or arrested. He further said Punjab police was now apprehending that these women would commit suicide and arrest warrants have been already issued against them.

The spokesman alleged that government had unleashed a reign of terror against Dera followers and was implicating them in false cases. He alleged that government was also patronising the forcible conversion of Dera followers into Sikhism.
