Bishop wants score system for church services

Norwegian bishop Finn Wagle wants more critical journalism about what is going on within the Norwegian church and wants to introduce a score system for Christian services.

«Journalists very rarely go into the Norwegian church to report about what is going on there. The Christian service is the pulse of the Norwegian church and as such, I think the media should cover the services the same way they cover other cultural events», said the bishop.

In Norwegian media it is common to use the dice as a score system for cultural events. For instance, if a critic thinks a concert was excellent, she will give it the score six, using the dice symbol.

Bishop Wagle would like journalists to start commenting on the Christian services the same way and to start using the dice to give 'scores', saying:

«The press may well be using the dice, but they should ideally also include a reason why they give the service that particular score».
