PNG cult leader's wife surrenders

Madang, Papua New Guinea - The female partner of the Papua New Guinea cult leader who's become known as "black Jesus" has handed herself into police.

Dorothy Gasan was wanted for allegedly helping the cult leader sexually abuse young girls.

She surrendered to police apparently after learning her partner, Steven Tari, was arrested two weeks ago.

Police allege that Gasan, 18, helped Mr Tari seduce and abuse young girls.

However Ms Gasan claims she is also a victim of the so-called "Black Jesus", and says he and his followers forced her to be his wife.

Steven Tari is expected to be charged with a number of offences including rape and murder.

Police hope to interview more of his alleged victims in the coming days.
