PNG police probe mob attacks linked to sorcery

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - Police in Papua New Guinea are investigating a spate of attacks in which locals have taken the law into their own hands.

Several murders have been reported across the country, with some involving sorcery.

Police are investigating an incident in which four women accused of sorcery were found buried in an upright position.

Locals say the women were responsible for the deaths of two people in a car accident a few weeks earlier.

And police have arrested a cult leader allegedly responsible for several sacrificial killings lately.

The cult had been running for 30 years through out 17 villages.
