Kampala, Uganda - Uganda police are to start working with witch doctors in different parts of the country in order to arrest criminals who visit these "doctors" for protection.
The police's public relations officer, Simon Nsubuga, says the force will soon start training the native doctors on how to report the criminals who visit their shrines.
Nsubuga who was talking to the media in Kampala on Thursday says if the plan is well implemented, the crime rate will go down.
He says many criminals in Uganda believe by using witchcraft, they can escape arrest.
Witch doctors in Uganda are also currently under pressure because of the ongoing kidnappings of children who are allegedly being used for ritual sacrifices.
