Five 'religious sect' members arrested in dawn raid

Llíber, Spain - Five people were arrested in a dawn raid yesterday on a chalet on the outskirts of Llíber (Alicante) including the leader of an alleged 'religious sect'. A Denia judge has ordered that the details of the case should be kept secret.

However, sources close to the investigation have revealed that a group of people had been running spiritual and personal development courses at the chalet -which is located around 700 metres from the village on the road to Benissa- mostly at weekends and public holidays.

Furthermore, people in the village have alleged that the course organisers kept themselves very much to themselves, and seemed to avoid any form of contact with even their closest neighbours.

It also appears that those running the courses, as well as those taking part, were Spanish.
