Paris, France - There may soon be a new LDS temple in France.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has confirmed its trying to purchase land in an area about 20 miles south of Paris, but they say they have not yet determined what they will do with the property.
French newspapers are reporting it will be the sight of the church's first temple in that country.
"We are interested in the property. We are working with the current owners, but no sale has been finalized. Any use of the property has not yet been determined. Locations of temples are announced by the president of the Church and he has made no such announcement regarding this site,” says Dale Bills, spokesperson for the church.
There are currently 11 temples operating or under construction throughout Europe.
