Asaba, Nigeria - AN 80-year-old Anglican priest, the Reverend Canon Johnson Uti, has been murdered at Kwale, Delta State in cold blood by his son over alleged act of withcraft.
The suspect who was immediately arrested by the police has confessed killing his father, saying that he took the action "because when I consulted the oracle to find out what was responsible for my woes, I was told that my father bewitched me."
Vanguard gathered that the cleric was recently returning from the launching of an ultra-modern building of the Christ Anglican Church, Kwale when he was allegedly hacked down by his son.
Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Kwale Police Division, Mr. B. Akpenyi confirmed the killing and said the boy was not arrested alone as the wife of the man and two herbalists had also been picked up too, adding that efforts were on to transfer the case to the state police headquarters, Asaba.
