Cult leader guilty of sex assault

New South Wales, Australia - A RELIGIOUS leader has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl on the New South Wales south coast more than a decade ago.

William Kamm, 55, known to his followers as The Little Pebble, stood trial in the NSW District Court on four counts of aggravated indecent assault and one of aggravated sexual intercourse for offences dating back to 1993.

Kamm's trial was told that he had passionately kissed the girl and fondled her breasts a number of times and masturbated her when she lived within the Order of St Charbel community based at Cambewarra near Nowra on the NSW south coast.

She had been chosen as one of Kamm's 12 queens and 72 princesses who would give birth to a new holy race when the world ended.

Kamm's victim wiped her eyes with a tissue after the verdicts were read out, while the courtroom, packed with Kamm's supporters, remained silent.

Judge John Williams continued Kamm's bail and set a sentencing date of September 16.
