Church calls Harry Potter improper Christmas viewing

The Church of England has slammed BBC bosses for airing "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone" on Christmas.

They say that showing anything that deals with the supernatural on a day like Christmas is improper.

"The BBC has picked the least suitable time to show it. Harry Potter portrays witchcraft and black magic in a fictional way but it is capitalizing on the supernatural," The Sun quoted a Church of England spokesman, as saying.

"The Harry Potter books are full of magic, witches, wizards, spells, ghosts, poltergeists and all the other stuff that we associate with the occult - and we see the occult as something dangerous," added Andrew Carey, the son of the former Archbishop of Canterbury. (ANI)
