More allegations of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church

The Catholic Church is preparing to defend itself against more allegations of sexual abuse as a 28 year-old former altar server in a parish in Wiener Neustadt admitted to abusing at least 20 children in his care in a ten-year period The Austrian Catholic Church is once again preparing to defend itself against further allegations of sexual abuse by its appointees, according to reports on Austrian National radio Oe3.

A former altar server in a parish in Wiener Neustadt has admitted to fulfilling his sexual fantasies on at least 20 children some as young as seven years old – from 1986 until 1996.

An investigation was launched after two victims – who are now legally adults – brought the allegations to the attention of the local authorities. The former head altar boy – who is now 28 years old admitted the offences and told that he himself was a victim of abuse by the Chaplain of the parish at the time. The 46-year-old Chaplain is now facing six charges of sexual abuse.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case, authorities have not disclosed the names of those involved or indeed the location of the parish involved.
