China closed down more than 1,100 pornographic Web sites since a nationwide crackdown began during the summer, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. More than 100 sites promoting "gambling, superstitious activities and cult propaganda" also have been shut down. The government's next target is illegal Web sites promoting gambling and "superstitious activities."
