8 Ecleo cult members sued for illegal gun possession

Police filed charges on Monday against eight members of the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association (PBMA) of cult leader Ruben Ecleo Jr. allegedly caught carrying high-powered firearms in a checkpoint on Friday.

The complaint of illegal possession of firearms was filed at the Lapulapu City Prosecutor’s Office in Mactan Island, Cebu.

They were Nestor Carrol, 34; Master Sergeant Hercleo Rallestan, 48; Arjulyn Tembrevilla Gallarda, 30; Richard Caballero, 31; Rosalito Oaper, 27; Michael Baylon, 29; Elpidio Amarila, 56; and his cousin Damiano, 37.

Carrol was reportedly a member of the close-in security of Surigao del Norte Representative Glenda Ecleo, mother of the PBMA “supreme master.”
