Six trainee evangelists attacked in Kerala

Six trainee evangelists of the Believers Church were beaten up allegedly by RSS workers at Budhannur in Alappuzha district of Kerala on Sunday, police said.

The miscreants allegedly forced the evangelists to board an autorickshaw and roughed them up after taking them in the vehicle some distance away from Budhannur, police said.

Most of the injured were student evangelists from the North and eastern parts of the country. They were admitted to a private hospital in Tiruvalla, police said.

The injured were identified as Jayakumar, Jogendra Thappa, Himaj Naik, Kiran Chakma, Dimond Topo and Narendra Naik.

No arrest had been made in connection with the incident, police added.
