Pakistan police probe priest's 'kidnap'

Police in the city of Quetta in south-west Pakistan are investigating the suspected kidnap of a Christian priest, Father Wilson Fazal.

He was last seen on Sunday being driven away in an unidentified vehicle.

Representatives of minority groups in Quetta have formed an action committee to press the authorities to secure his release.

Father Wilson, who worked for the Pakistan Gospel Assemblies, is believed to have received threats demanding that he stop preaching in Quetta.

Police are reported recently to have placed armed guards at his home.
