by Stephen Oladipupo

Members of the Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C.), Temidire Onajimi Street, Bariga, who had gone for an all-night prayer last night ended up being visited by agents of the devil as a gang of robbers raided the church and shot some of the members.

Sources informed P.M.News that the robbers numbering about 10 had gone to the area to raid some of the houses on the street.

The robbers, P.M.News further learnt, arrived in the area around 1.30a.m. and in the course of their raid got to the church where the pastor and members of the church were deep in a prayer session.

Eyewitnesses told P.M.News that the robbers on entering the church asked all the worshippers to lie flat on the ground and began dispossessing them of their belongings one after the other.

In the course of the raid, P.M.News gathered, two members of the church were macheted by the robbers, while they (the robbers) also demanded for all the tithes and offerings collected by the church.

The witness stated that the pastor of the church (name withheld) had during the operation by the robbers, attempted to hide under the altar when the robbers sighted him and shot him several times in the back.

The pastor is now being hospitalised at a private hospital in Bariga.

Meanwhile, a 12-year old boy (name witheld) and a herbalist at Kusa Street were among four armed robbery suspects arrested by the police at Bariga in connection with the incident.
